This year, our company renewed its ISO 27001 certification in addition to adapting the new governing norms (UNE-ISO/IED 27001:2014). This certifies that Persei vivarium provides a robust architecture and an information management system that supports the business service activities for eHealth and eHealth consulting services on appropriate data and information management platforms. Miguel Cabañas, our Chief Technology Officer, was responsible for this certification process for the company.
The ISO 27001, AENOR’s certification of information security management systems, is a framework that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information in an organization. It relies on a structure based on the evaluation and management of risks and the implementation of adequate security measures.
In order to continue improving in this area this year, our team has set the goal of changing our architecture to improve the security and scalability of our products, as well as making internal improvements in the central offices in Madrid.
In addition, this year we are adding the review and inclusion of progressive measures, if necessary, to comply with the new (EU) regulation 2016/697 from the European Parliament and the Council of 27 April 2016. Unlike the earlier 95/46/EC directive, which was implemented in local regulations, the new regulation will apply directly to all EU members.
