José Luis Rojo-Álvarez, Chief Scientific Officer for Persei vivarium, was appointed as a Professor at University Rey Juan Carlos on March 25, 2016 after a defense on the subjects of Signals and Systems, and Introduction to Biomedical Engineering.

The examining board was made up of five professors in the area of signals and communications theory, with international experience and prestige in information and telecommunications technologies and in biomedical engineering.

José Luis Rojo-Álvarez has a Doctorate in Telecommunications Engineering, with a special interest in signals processing and cardiac imaging (mechanisms of arrhythmias, prolonged monitoring, electronic medical records), as well as in the creation of algorithms for signals processing and mass data, along with their extension to applications in marketing, traffic prediction, and sensor networks.
