International Women’s Day 2026: “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”

Persei vivarium once again joins the celebration of International Women’s Day, observed worldwide on March 8, reaffirming its commitment to gender equality and to ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all, under this year’s theme proposed by UN Women: “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”. This global call highlights the need to move beyond the formal recognition of rights and ensure effective justice so that these rights can be fully upheld, exercised and enjoyed under conditions of equality.

Despite the progress achieved in recent decades, no country has yet succeeded in completely closing the legal gender gaps between men and women. Globally, women hold only 64% of the legal rights granted to men. This results in barriers across fundamental areas of life, including work, access to financial resources, security, family, property, mobility, business and retirement. These inequalities are further reinforced by insufficient legal frameworks and social norms that continue to limit the development and autonomy of millions of women and girls.

For this reason, this year’s theme promoted by UN Women focuses on the need to guarantee real access to justice for all women and girls by promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws, policies and practices, and addressing the structural barriers that perpetuate inequality.

At Persei vivarium, we renew our commitment to this cause by fostering safe and inclusive workplaces that promote the empowerment and leadership of women, particularly in the fields of healthcare and health-related technologies, where it is essential to ensure their active participation in innovation, design and decision-making. This March 8, we join women and girls around the world in calling for rights, justice and action, convinced that only through collective effort can we build a truly inclusive future for everyone.
