UR-CARE and E-QUALITY projects highlighted again this year at ECCO’24, the leading conference on inflammatory bowel disease

by Patricia Domínguez, February 28, 2024

The nineteenth annual ECCO congress, ECCO’24, took place February 21-24 in Stockholm, with the theme of “Crossing borders in IBD.” Once again, the congress gathered together world leaders in the field of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with participation from 90 countries.

Our company, Persei vivarium, had the opportunity to join in this event again, thanks to the UR-CARE, United Registries for Clinical Assessment and Research project. Our goals were to participate in related activities, demonstrate the operation of the platform, answer questions, and share information of interest in order to continue bringing in new users, both for that project and for the E-QUALITY project, which is an initiative focused on the quality of care for this type of patient, in order to attract new participants from around the world.

During the congress, the team was at the “UR-CARE and E-QUALITY booth,” where they were available to offer information, demonstrate the use of the platform, and respond to questions from interested healthcare professionals. In addition, the UR-CARE project was one of the projects selected to be presented in the ECCO plenary session.

UR-CARE is an international online registry, available to individual hospitals or research groups, that gathers data from IBD patients in a simple and structured way to manage daily clinical practice as well as to generate research projects.

The E-QUALITY project is an initiative promoted by ECCO that seeks to identify the gaps between the standards established by ECCO and current clinical practice and, ultimately, to address these differences in the care of IBD patients using international guides focused on practice, education, research, and collaboration in this field.

Again this year it was a pleasure for our company to be able to participate in the ECCO’24 Congress, and to share information and knowledge about UR-CARE and E-QUALITY, with the goal of improving the management of IBD and encouraging research, generating scientific knowledge that enables the improvement of the quality of life of people who live with this disease.
