Last Thursday, September 13th, the International University of Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), which is focused on the health sciences and is considered one of the most prominent universities for international training, celebrated the “Science to business to people” workshop, organized by the Azierta Foundation.

Their courses aim to be a channel for entrepreneurship and connections between science and business, as a way to change society through innovation, information and knowledge. They have become one of the most established forums bringing together personalities, academics and experts in this field.

In this workshop, “Science to business: Food for thoughts” the objective was to reflect on the key role of research in the healthcare field, its challenges and the sector trends, with a special focus on Real-World Data (RWD) and its value for the patient.

These aspects were dealt with during the day in different discussion panels, with our company, Persei vivarium, as one of the companies invited to participate.  We spoke about the opportunities and challenges of technology and science to business collaboration in this process.

In this framework, we explained how in the pharma and medical devices research fields it is essential to accelerate the extraction of health indicators through the generation of quality and curated clinical information sources, and how our value proposition emerges in this activity.

We put the focus on this thanks to our technology, which facilitates the capture of data from daily clinical practice (Real-World Data) and offers the possibility of extracting Real-World Evidence, impacting knowledge as a result of this valuable information.

In this way, the workshop and the participation of the different actors helped to define the new challenges of science to business collaboration for the next few years.

“The Azierta Foundation seeks to boost science to business collaboration and to spread that knowledge to society. They are interested in developing sustainability, entrepreneurship and employability.”
