Persei vivarium renews their ISO 27001 certificate, adapting to the latest version of the international standard

Our business, Persei vivarium, has successfully passed the audit for recertification of the ISO/IEC 27001, the international benchmark standard for management of information security. This time, the renewal involved an additional focus, incorporating the changes to the latest version of the standard, which is now called “ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information security, cybersecurity, and privacy protection”.

The transition to the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 version, which has a new structure and organization for security controls, represents a key update to the approach to management of information security, including the following changes:

- Revision and modernization of the security controls, including aspects related to new technological threats and trends. It has shifted from 114 controls in 14 domains to 93 controls grouped into 4 primary categories: organizational, people, physical, and technological. In addition, 11 new controls were added to address areas like threat intelligence, cloud security, business continuity, and data masking, among others.
- Greater emphasis on the evaluation of risks in the face of current scenarios associated with technological development and new regulatory requirements regarding privacy.
- Better integration with other management systems, thanks to harmonized structure and terminology that facilitate a more agile, coherent approach.

In this way, the shift to this new version of the standard guarantees that Persei vivarium will continue applying the best international practices regarding information security, assuring the basic principles of confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and responding to the new technological challenges in an effective way.
