Enhancing the patient journey

Some days ago, the Persei vivarium team attended a training session about the new features developed for our Caaring application (the patients module of our technological ecosystem). Presented by one of our Project Managers, Ana Reis A. Marques, the main goal of this training session was to show how the new features of the patient questionnaires were developed and operate. During the session, Ana explained how the Caaring App offers a simple way of collecting information about the patients and their lifestyle, through questionnaires. These can be customized to meet the needs of different healthcare providers.

Similarly, physicians can follow-up on their patients outside of the exam room and send them feedback about the evolution of their pathologies. They can also receive real-time notifications when a patient has filled out a questionnaire, and can access it from the Caaring App or via web. Remote patient monitoring is key for the healthcare industry.

Measuring patients’ quality of life and treatment plan allows physicians to study patterns and trends and to see how common certain experiences are.

Through a live demo, Ana showed the team how a physician can activate a questionnaire using our backend application, and how a patient could complete a questionnaire through the mobile app.

The most important questions came at the end of the presentation:

  • Why does Persei vivarium believe these new features can contribute to improve the pathologies management?
  • How does the Caaring App comply with GDPR?
  • Could the filling out of questionnaires help improve healthcare experience of other patients?

Everyday, our team works to improve the Caaring App in order to be more secure, lean and transparent in terms of data protection and privacy. The security and privacy of clinical data of Caaring app users is at the CORE of our work and complying with GDPR is not only a rule but, most of all, a part of our DNA.

The results of the questionnaires, based on individual feedback, can be used to improve overall therapies, treatments or patient care and could be a big step towards an in-depth investigation on the patients’ quality of life. By surveying consistently you build up a detailed picture of patients’ experiences. Regularly repeating the same type of survey enables changes over time to be monitored and performances to be compared.

Nowadays, and more than ever, it is very important to have a bridge between patients and physicians and we believe Caaring can help you!
