Recently, the Spanish Working Group on Crohn\u2019s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis (GETECCU)<\/strong> has published an overview of its trajectory as the leading reference group in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in Spain<\/strong> in the journal \u201cTherapeutic Advances in Gastroenterology<\/em>\u201d, through the article \u201cGETECCU: a comprehensive national strategy for excellence in inflammatory bowel disease\u201d<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The article highlights GETECCU\u2019s contribution to improving clinical management and advancing research in IBD, a leadership supported by key initiatives such as ENEIDA<\/strong> (\u201cEstudio Nacional en Enfermedad Inflamatoria Intestinal sobre Determinantes Gen\u00e9ticos y Ambientales<\/em>\u201d).<\/p>\n

ENEIDA<\/a> is a national prospective registry, implemented and managed using the technology and services of<\/strong> Persei vivarium<\/a>, which enables the centralization, quality, and effective use of clinical data for evidence generation.<\/strong> The registry includes data from more than 100 centers and over 88,000 patients<\/strong>, allowing for large-scale Real-World Evidence generation.<\/p>\n

Thanks to this approach, the registry has led to more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific publications<\/strong>, most of them in high-impact journals, and has become a key platform for the development of epidemiological, genetic, pharmacological, and surgical research in IBD in Spain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Projects such as ENEIDA reflect the important role of Digital Health in disease management and research, particularly in IBD<\/a>. Real-World Data is transformed into knowledge that directly impacts clinical practice and patients\u2019 quality of life. The evidence generated through the registry enables physicians to better understand how the disease affects patients in their daily lives and which treatments are most effective, ultimately improving care for both current and future patients.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Persei vivarium, we would like to congratulate GETECCU on this outstanding trajectory, which positions them as the leading academic and clinical reference group in IBD in Spain<\/strong>, as well as on their significant contribution to the study and research of this disease.
