The development of Digital Health has resulted in <\/span>significant advances in the treatment and management of diseases<\/span><\/b>, especially chronic diseases, as we noted in our article about the management of <\/span>Diabetes Mellitus<\/span><\/a> or <\/span>Heart Failure<\/span><\/a>. Along with these, many other pathologies that have a major impact on the patient and the healthcare system can <\/span>benefit from the contributions of these solutions, as is the case with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Over the past 50 years, the prevalence of IBD has increased in all population groups, especially in Western countries.<\/span><\/a> This is a <\/span>chronic digestive disease<\/span><\/b> that <\/span>affects approximately 2.2 million people in Europe<\/span><\/a>, primarily youth <\/span>between the ages of 16 and 40.<\/span><\/a> This results not only a <\/span>significant health impact, but also social and economic consequences,<\/span><\/b> as it affects the working-age population.<\/span><\/p>\n

The management of IBD requires <\/span>treatment and continuous monitoring of the patient in order to reduce intestinal changes and complications over the long term<\/span><\/b>, <\/span>as these can affect the patient\u2019s quality of life <\/span><\/b>in an significant way. In this way, <\/span>Digital Health tools like telemedicine, remote monitoring, and other patient-centered digital solutions become significant partners, enabling:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
