As we have seen,<\/span> D<\/span>igital Therapeutics (DTX) go one step beyond Digital Health tools<\/span><\/a>,<\/a> becoming <\/span>clinically validated solutions<\/span><\/b> that meet the technical <\/span>requirements and certifications<\/span><\/b> that are necessary for their use in <\/span>preventing, managing, or treating conditions and\/or diseases<\/span><\/b>. In this way, they differ from other digital solutions that are intended for health monitoring and care, as they must meet those requirements prior to their approval and implementation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Considering these features of DTx, as\u00a0we noted in the article <\/span>How are Digital Therapeutics (DTx) making headway in the Spanish Health System?<\/span><\/a>, some countries have already found the <\/span>need for specific regulations that establish a clear roadmap for introducing them into the system and implementing them as quickly as possible<\/span><\/b>. This goal is being pursued in Spain as well, where work has been carried out jointly for several years through alliances like the <\/span>Consorcio DTx<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Germany stands out<\/span><\/b> among the countries that have already established these models, using a <\/span>fast-track process for \u201cDiGA<\/span><\/a>\u201d (<\/span>Digitale Gesundheitsanwendungen), \u201cApplications for Digital Health\u201d in English. <\/span>This approach <\/span>provides provisional approval for a Digital Therapeutic product that meets minimal technical and safety requirements, allowing it to become part of the country\u2019s reimbursement system within a short period of time, with final inclusion awaiting the outcomes of the clinical studies<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This type of <\/span>fast-track process offers important <\/span><\/b>benefits for patients, healthcare professionals, digital developers, and health systems<\/span><\/b><\/a> in general<\/span><\/b>, as indicated by <\/span>\u201c<\/span>The Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArm)\u201d, as it enables:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
