In this day and age, the traditional medical model, in which medicine is reactive or curative and the patient comes to the physician and is treated, is no longer sufficient. Now medicine does not just cure, but tries to prevent, improve the quality of life, adapt itself to the individual, predict the evolution of the disease, and put the patient at the center.<\/b><\/p>\n
Because of this, in 2008 we began to use the term 4P Medicine: Personalized, Predictive, Preventive, and Participatory,\u00a0<\/b>to respond to this new concept of medicine. However, recently we have moved on to talk about the \u201cMedicine of the Future,\u201d or 5P Medicine<\/b>, incorporating the \u201cP\u201d of population.<\/p>\n
So, what is 5P Medicine?<\/b><\/p>\n
5P Medicine is:<\/strong><\/p>\n Current healthcare systems are already working toward this model, mainly through the implementation of technology<\/b>, as noted in the report, \u201cE-Health and changes in the healthcare model<\/a><\/span>\u201d<\/em>. This report affirms the need to change the business model towards the generation of value for the ultimate user, centering this more on<\/b> patient outcomes<\/span>.<\/a><\/p>\n In this process, digitalization\u2014specifically Big Data<\/b>\u2014is playing a key role, thanks to the great potential offered by the collection and analysis of large collections of healthcare data.<\/b> This information, after being analyzed, enables the extraction of significant conclusions for better knowledge, approaches, and treatment<\/b> of diseases.<\/b> For example, this will allow us to predict the risk of developing a disease or its progression, to find the best way to prevent it, to improve the personalization of the treatment, and to give accurate information to the patient, which allows him or her to participate in the management of the disease.<\/b><\/p>\n In addition to improving the management of diseases<\/a><\/a><\/u><\/span>, the use of these data will also improve the efficiency of the healthcare system<\/b>, from the development of treatments to the reduction of the pressure on hospitals.<\/p>\n At Persei vivarium<\/a><\/span>, we are mindful of all this, so we are focused on providing our technology for the creation of quality data on specific pathologies, coming from hospital information, the daily clinical practice of the physician, and the experience of the patient<\/b>, providing the basis for the implementation of this model.
